Beard Transplant

Patchy spots, scars, areas of uneven growth, or a complete lack of thick warm facial fuzz, there are a number of reasons men may consider undergoing a beard transplant. IK Clinics offers a viable solution to all these issues with its advanced hair transplant technique that helps you achieve your desired manly look and a thick beard.

It’s natural for a man to desire a full, thick beard, moustache, or sideburns. However, various reasons, such as genetics, an accident, or a surgery, may cause many men to lose their facial hair. At IK Clinics, we offer beard transplants to help you create a more masculine look and restore the growth of your facial hair without leaving any noticeable scar with our follicular unit extraction (FUE) technology.

What is a Beard Transplant?

Just like the conventional FUE hair transplant technique, a beard transplant involves extraction of follicular units from a donor area and their implantation to bald patches or areas with patchy hair growth. The only difference between a conventional FUE transplant and a beard transplant is that the later focuses on facial hair areas, such as the beard, moustache, goatee, sideburns, and cheeks.

What to Expect?

Beard transplant is done using follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique at IK Clinics. The process starts with extraction of hair follicles from the donor area with micro punches that cause minimal pain and scarring. To minimise discomfort, you may also be given a sedative; however, you may choose to stay alert as well.

After extraction, a hair surgeon implants the follicular units using fine implanters to the facial areas that need hair transplantation. Great care and skills are required at this stage in order to create a natural, manly look. The entire process takes 2 to 5 hours and causes minimal skin trauma, allowing the patient to get back to their routine without any delay. It is advisable that after a beard transplant, you allow at least 7 days for recovery to avoid complications and achieve best results.

Benefits of an FUE Beard Transplant

FUE offers significant benefits over other facial hair transplantation techniques because of its less-invasive nature. You may consider choosing an FUE beard transplant if you desire:

  • No Scarring or Stitches — The technique does not leave a scar on your scalp or face and offers a quick recovery because of its less-invasive, stitches-free nature.
  • Natural Results — Since FUE involves extraction and implantation of individual follicular units and not a strip, it produces a more natural, masculine look.
  • Quick Hair Growth — The hair follicles transplanted during an FUE transplant fall out after 2 weeks of the transplant and begin to regrow within 3 months, after which the facial hair growth will be permanent.

Who is a Candidate?

Any individual who has patchy or no hair growth on sideburns, goatee, moustache, and cheeks due to the following reasons can benefit from a beard transplant.

    • Illnesses that resulted in hair loss
    • Hair loss due to radiation or chemotherapy
    • Hair loss due to scarring, burns, or skin trauma
    • Natural loss of facial hair
    • Patchy beard due to Trichotillomania (an obsession to pull out facial hair)
